Avoiding F686: Preventing, Treating, and Assessing Pressure Injuries Through Documentation

Wednesday, March 13, 2019 1:00–2:00 p.m. Eastern

Presented by: Beth Alford, RN, BSN

Pressure injuries and their accompanying documentation are often among the most frequently cited survey deficiencies.
Documentation that’s lacking or missing can result in citations under F686, or even lawsuits. In addition, since wound care is the subject of continual research, keeping current on best practices is vital.

During this 60-minute program, risk management specialist Beth Alford, RN, BSN, will identify the steps that most facilities get wrong when it comes to documenting pressure injuries. Alford will guide participants through key areas of documenting, assessing, treating, and preventing pressure injuries to ensure staff are providing quality and compliant care. Join Alford at the end of the webinar for a live Q&A session and get your most pressing questions answered!

ALERT!

• The Dept. of Public Health (IDPH) proposed amendments to the "Control of Communicable Diseases" Code (77 IL Adm Code 690; 36 IL Reg 15918) that would establish the reporting of Multi-Drug Resistant Organisms (MDRO) to an MDRO Registry. Beginning September 1, 2013, all health care facilities will be required to report when an individual entering your facility has been diagnosed with an MDRO infection such as infections caused by e. coli, salmonella and many others. This is part of a national initiative to ensure active reporting.
